About

Kate Walthour, LGSW, has worked in student services, teaching and administration at the University of Minnesota for approximately 18 years. This has included work and advocacy around issues of social justice for students, staff and the broader community, with a particular interest in intersections of race and culture. She currently oversees a fellowship program of graduate students that includes facilitation of the IDI and infusing intercultural development in student knowledge and skill building throughout their graduate program. Kate has been a Qualified Administrator since 2019 and feels passionately about the IDI's ability to bring new perspectives, especially compassion, curiosity, and humility, to all of our capacities in effectively navigating differences.
