Dr. Yolanda T. Mitchell is an experienced educator, facilitator, and intercultural development professional dedicated to fostering inclusive learning and working environments. Holding a Ph.D. in Family Science, an M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy, and certification in dispute resolution for divorce and child custody mediation, Dr. Mitchell has over a decade of experience working with historically marginalized populations across higher education, Family Science, and mental health. Dr. Mitchell currently serves as the Faculty Development Director at the University of North Texas, bringing a deep understanding of cultural identity, equity, and community engagement to her work where she supports faculty success through inclusive teaching practices and organizational development. As a Qualified Administrator of the IDI since 2018, Dr. Mitchell has guided individuals and teams through intercultural development planning in a variety of contexts, including education, student and faculty affairs, and community organizations. Her approach is strengths-based, culturally responsive, and focused on both personal and institutional growth. She is especially passionate about supporting professionals in reflecting on their intercultural mindset and building the capacity to lead with cultural humility and intentionality.
