Dr. Dana E. Crawford brings a rare and powerful blend of expertise to her work as a certified IDI® coach, clinical psychologist, and former nurse. She offers a trauma-informed, clinical approach to building intercultural competence—grounded in neuroscience, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and real-world experience across sectors.
Dr. Crawford has led transformational work in academic institutions, corporations, non-profits, schools, and hospitals. She completed her training at Howard University, Miami University, Tulane School of Medicine, and prestigious fellowships with the Department of Defense and Tulane’s Center for Early Connections. Her background in nursing gives her a direct understanding of frontline care, which deeply informs her psychological and consulting work.
She is the author of Healing Bias and creator of the Crawford Bias Reduction Theory & Training (CBRT) and the R.A.C.E. Cards—clinical tools designed to help individuals and teams have honest, skillful conversations about race and difference.
