Dr. Sandra Harris Howard

Sandra Harris Howard, Ph.D. serves as Associate VP of Equity and Leadership Development for the EIC at the YMCA of the North. In that role, she influences organizational culture change through facilitation, curriculum development, and team and client relations. She also serves as an adjunct professor in Human Services at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU). Dr. Howard has strength and expertise in collaborative efforts, organizational and community transformation, intercultural competence, strategy planning, child and youth development, ministry, qualitative research, and proposal writing. She is a certified master coach and qualified administrator for the Intercultural Development Inventory® (IDI). Sandra is founder of SJH Consulting and has successfully worked with a variety of teams and groups over decades. Prior leadership experience includes roles with the YMCA of the USA (Y-USA), Colorado Governor's Office, Inner City Christian School, Search Institute, Compassion International, and Joining Vision and Action consulting.   Dr. Howard received her Bachelor of Science in biology from Boston University; Master of Human Services in organizational management and leadership from Springfield College; and Ph.D. in Human Services from Capella University. Sandra’s qualitative dissertation work was in positive youth development.
